Designed after the Palace of Knossos ( on Crete), this steel-rebar reinforced concrete hotel safely nestled into a hill overlooking Lake Arenal was built to last in 1992. The building continues to stand the test of time and is in great condition ( while some rooms need updating).
The deep red and yellow ochre columns frame the surrounding lush greenery and breathtaking views of the lake. Colorful, naturally- dyed and polished cement floors, hand-painted frescoes, and a sweeping central, open-air staircase make Lake Arenal Hotel’s unique beauty unforgettable.
The hotel has an economic break-even occupancy rate of 20% under the current management. With the rooms, pool, laundry facility, and the LAB' s solar hot water and solar photovoltaic panels, operational costs are extremely low. There is a combination of four-bed and two-bedrooms, some with fireplaces, nine of which can be equipped with a kitchenette ( some rooms need updating).
Additionally, there is a large pool, large jacuzzi, laundry facilities, tennis court, nature trails, local wildlife, lush gardens & green zones, along with a stellar bar/ restaurant/ dining area with a fireplace and a great view.
